The purpose of teaching is not to feed, but to create hunger.
I wish I could remember where I found this quote, and who wrote it. It perfectly describes how I feel about teaching. As a teacher you have only a limited amount of time with a student, not enough to teach them everything you know.
So that shouldn’t be your goal. Instead, you should try to peak their interest and make them eager to learn more; whether they sign up for your next course or get their information from YouTube videos.
Marketing teachers have it easy. Every student can relate to marketing, because they have been consumers since they were born. They all have favorite brands, an opinion about advertising, and experience with poor service.
All we need to do is identify what students relate to most, and apply the ‘trojan horse’ method. While they are distracted by subjects that interest them, we sneak in the knowledge and skills that they need to develop and implement a solid marketing strategy.

I am a marketing teacher at Webster University in Geneva, Switzerland. The purpose of this website is to provide other marketing teachers with tools to engage their students and increase their courses’ effectiveness.
These tools include the exercises, case studies and games that I have developed over my teaching career, and my intention is to keep adding new materials on a continuous basis.
The tools will always be available for free. If you enjoy them, you can thank me by giving me feedback and ideas, and by telling your colleagues about this website.
